It's been a busy time lately. My daughter Rachel (13) had her scoliosis repaired on Tuesday. Was a very long day and a very long week.
She's doing quite well now. The doctors expect her to be able to come home tomorrow, which we're quite glad to hear. Of course it's going to be a long recovery process, but it will be nice to have everyone under the same roof.
Basically what they did was put two rods in her back that fuse the T5-T12 bones together. This not only will fix the current curvature, but it will keep the back straight into the future as well. They also "adjusted" several of her ribs. That means they were broken and re-aligned to straighten her shoulder.
Needless to say, she'll need your prayers. In fact, the whole family will for a while. It's going to be a rough period of time, at least for the next few weeks.
How'd it all go, Etz?
